Invisalign in London starts at a median of £2,500. We took the lowest Invisalign or clear aligner price that each practice publishes on its own website, across 752 London practices. Half of them start between £1,890 and £3,300.
These are starting prices. A starting price usually covers a simple case, such as small gaps or mild crowding. If your teeth need a lot of movement, or both your upper and lower teeth need treatment, expect to pay more than the starting price. Only a consultation can tell you which group you are in.

Location is not a reliable guide to price. Westminster has the most practices that publish an Invisalign price (80), and its median is £2,488, close to the London figure. Some outer boroughs are higher: the median is £2,995 in Kingston upon Thames and £3,000 in Harrow. So compare individual practices, not areas. Our Invisalign in London directory lists practices with their published prices.
Why one person pays £2,000 and another pays £5,000
The biggest factor is how much your teeth need to move. More movement means more aligners (the clear plastic trays you wear), more appointments and a longer treatment.
Align Technology, the company that makes Invisalign, sells it in packages. The names vary, but the idea is the same:
- Short packages (often called Express or i7) are for very small changes. They use a small number of aligners.
- Lite packages are for mild to moderate crowding or gaps.
- Full packages are for bigger changes, including bite problems. They cost the most.
Treating one arch (only the top or only the bottom teeth) costs less than treating both.
Practices also price differently. Align gives each provider a tier, such as Gold, Platinum or Diamond, based mainly on how many patients they treat. A higher tier shows the practice treats many Invisalign patients. It does not prove better results.
What the price should include
Two quotes with the same headline price can cover very different things. A complete Invisalign price normally includes:
- the consultation and a digital scan of your teeth
- the ClinCheck plan (a computer preview of how your teeth should move)
- all the aligners you need
- check-up appointments during treatment
- refinements (extra aligners if your teeth have not moved as planned)
- retainers at the end
Cheaper quotes sometimes leave out refinements or retainers. Ask the practice directly: “Does this price include refinements and retainers?” Retainers bought separately can cost a few hundred pounds. You will need to wear a retainer after treatment, usually for the long term, or your teeth can move back.
Also ask what happens if you lose or break an aligner, and whether replacements cost extra.
Is Invisalign available on the NHS?
Almost never. NHS orthodontic treatment (straightening teeth) is mainly for people under 18 with a clear clinical need, and it usually uses fixed braces. Adults normally pay privately for any kind of brace, and Invisalign is almost always a private treatment. Our guide to Invisalign vs fixed braces explains who qualifies for NHS braces.
Invisalign or fixed braces?
Fixed metal braces have a similar starting price. In our data, the median published starting price for fixed or metal braces is £2,498 (240 practices). Ceramic braces, which use tooth-coloured brackets, have a median of £2,995 (81 practices).
So the choice is usually not about price. It is about which works for your teeth and your daily life. Aligners are almost invisible and come out for eating and cleaning. But they only work if you wear them 20 to 22 hours a day. Fixed braces work all the time, and they can handle more complex cases. Our Invisalign vs fixed braces guide compares them in detail.
How to pay less
Get 2 or 3 assessments. Prices for the same case vary a lot between practices. Many practices offer a free or low-cost first consultation for Invisalign.
Compare the full price, not the starting price. Ask each practice for a written treatment plan with one total price. Then compare those totals.
Check finance carefully. Many practices offer 0% finance over 12 to 24 months. For example, £2,500 over 24 months is about £104 a month. Ask for the total amount you will repay, and check for any fees.
