Every listing on this site is built from public sources you can check for yourself. This page explains where each piece of information comes from, how often we update it, and how to get it corrected.
Where the listings come from
Dentist-London.com lists 2,128 dental practices across all 32 London boroughs and the City of London. The list is based on the Care Quality Commission (CQC) register. Every practice we list is CQC-registered, and we link each listing to its CQC record. We show the registration and the date of the last CQC inspection. The CQC does not rate dental practices, so we never show or imply a CQC rating.
Contact details and opening hours
Addresses, phone numbers, websites and opening hours come mainly from each practice's public Google business listing. We match each practice to its CQC record. Not every practice has opening hours on Google, so some of our pages do not show them. We do not guess missing details.
Treatments and prices
Our crawler reads each practice's own website. A treatment is only listed for a practice when the practice's own site names it. We do not guess it from directory categories. Prices are the "from" prices the practice publishes. If we hold no prices for a practice, its page says so.
NHS availability
Whether an NHS practice is taking new patients comes from the practice's own page on the NHS website (nhs.uk). Practices update this themselves. We read every NHS practice's page once a week and show the month the practice last confirmed its status. It can change at any time, so always phone the practice before you go.
Google ratings
Where a practice has Google reviews, we show the average rating and the number of reviews, and say that they come from Google. Google collects these ratings, not us, and we do not edit or weight them. Practices without a Google rating show no rating. We never show empty stars or placeholder scores. In some buildings, several practices share one Google listing. There we cannot tell whose reviews they are, so we hide the rating for those practices.
How often we check
Different parts of a listing are updated at different times:
- NHS availability: every week, from nhs.uk.
- Google ratings, websites and closures: last updated from Google in June 2026.
- Treatments and prices: last read from practice websites in July 2026.
- NHS access figures by borough: once a year, when the NHS Business Services Authority publishes them.
Each practice page shows when its details were last updated. When someone tells us a detail is wrong, we check it and correct it. Our sitemap only reports a page as changed when its information changed.
Our crawler
If you run a dental practice website and found this page from your server logs: the visits are
from DentistLondonBot/1.0, our crawler. It reads a small number of pages on each
site, follows robots.txt and names itself in every request. It is there only to
keep your practice's treatments and prices accurate in our directory. If you would like us to
crawl your site less often or not at all, contact us and we will do
that.
Spotted an error?
If a listing shows the wrong details (yours or anyone's), please tell us through the contact page and we will correct it. Practice owners can also claim their listing for free and send us corrections directly. For complaints about how we operate, see our complaints procedure.
What we don't do
- No hidden paid placement: a practice that pays to be Featured appears higher in lists and is always labelled "Featured". Paying never changes the facts we show.
- No invented reviews, ratings or "verified patient" badges.
- No medical advice: our content is general information, and every advice article says so.
