Tips for finding a commuter-friendly practice

When searching for a dentist near your workplace rather than your home, a few things are worth checking beyond location. Early morning and late evening slots (before 8.30am and after 6pm) vary significantly between practices - some City and West End practices cater specifically to working patients and offer extended hours; others don’t. Lunchtime appointments are common in central London but tend to book up quickly, so it’s worth registering before you actually need treatment rather than waiting until you have a problem.

NHS availability near major stations is generally limited. Central London practices are more likely to be private-only or offer a mix. If NHS access is a priority, our guide to finding an NHS dentist in London covers what to do when your local search comes up short. For a sense of what private treatment costs in London, see our dentist cost London guide.

This guide is general information about dental care in London. It is not medical advice. For treatment decisions, consult a GDC-registered dentist. In a dental emergency, call NHS 111 or contact an emergency dental service.
